Toilet Repair

Yesterday I took the toilet in the master bedroom apart and put it back together with all new insides. It started shooting water out the top of the tank and dripping it onto the floor so it needed to be fixed. The boys were pretty happy to watch me take it apart and put it back together again. I tried to explain the mechanism so they could see how it all fits together and works to flush water down into the toilet. They were quite interested. Someday I want to be able to tell them to go to the store and buy the parts and fix it for me

Lakers Are Playing Great

I’ve been enjoying the Lakers lately. After they made the Brown for Gasol trade they have really picked it up. Kobe seems happy and his A’s are going up. Gasol fits in very well. Odom is playing much better. When Bynum comes back from his knee injury they are going to be very very hard to beat. I’m watching them beat Miami right now. Go Lakers!

Z has a cough

D & Z are both sick with bad coughs. M is OK and so am I mostly (knock on wood). Last week Z had a fever a couple days in a row but seems better now. M never had the fever. My right ear is clogged up but not hurting so I keep sleeping on my left side hoping to unclog it. All in all we aren’t that sick. I hope Z’s cough gets better because he is getting tired of coughing.

Back from Vegas

I was in Las Vegas last week with my dad. We stayed downtown and avoided most of the crowds and higher table stakes of the strip. We went to 3 shows: Crazy Horse Paris, Tropicana Comedy Stop, V The Ultimate Variety Show. All were pretty good for the price. We stayed at Binion’s – the place that made the world series of poker famous. I had a good time. I didn’t lose much money. I got to hang out with my dad. I got to get away from work for a few days. All good stuff. I feel pretty lucky to be able to hang out with my dad and spend that kind of quality time with him.

Knight Rider

Did you know that Knight Rider the TV show is back? This time the car is a Ford Mustang. The start, Michael Knight, is the son of the original Michael Knight and German Rock Star, David Hasselhoff. I watched the 2 hour opener and thought they did a good job tying it all together with the original 1980s storyline. Every kid will soon want a black Ford Mustang.

Z is nice

Today Z went to the little gym for a “bring a friend” day. Z was the friend that his buddy invited to class. His buddy, Dylan, has been shy lately in class so as the activities got started Dylan went and sat alone by the wall. Z was excited to play but instead of playing with all of the other kids he went and sat by his friend. They talked until he was ready to play with the rest of the kids. I love my boys! I know I’m biased but still, that seems like a pretty nice thing for a 4 year old to do.

Tunnel

I feel like I’m starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel at work. The last couple weeks have been crazy. My team is working like crazy to deal with all of the escalated support work coming our way.. late hours, etc, etc. Today it seems like we might be getting the upper hand. I hope we are.
